A physical experience – inventive and absorbing. Reg’Arts
The eyes are closed, tied and come to rest. And then a 20-minute journey through the famous Le Sacre du Printemps begins – experienced with the entire body. The dancers affect the lying audience members in haptic rite with very different activating touches. In the context of Stravinsky’s composition, musical meaning start flowing through the veins. The muscles understand the work kinaesthetically – with all senses of motion. Without “doing” anything.
Kenji Ouellet was born in Quebec, Canada, and lives in Berlin, where he is working at the intersections of choreography, performance and video art. The classical pianist, trained in New York, studied media art in Vienna and Berlin, where he became a master student in 2009.
