Highlights the delicacy, fragility and power that can be found in the body at any age.

Erev Rav Arts Magazine

18 dancers, mothers and grandmothers, women in their mid-60s to mid-80s. They move in a calm, careful and at times dreamy manner. All have a passion in common: they would loved to have become and remained dancers. Galit Liss brings the women and their stories to the stage. In her choreography GO!, she establishes an intelligent balance between individuality and collective, between text and dance, and conveys fears and wishes as if in passing. For example, the luck of starting to dance again after 40 years or the fear of becoming helpless and immobile. A recurring story is that of having had a passion for dance as a child, but then being thwarted by the parents who wanted them to learn a proper profession. With GO!, the Israeli choreographer succeeds in making the case for life, in creating an homage to old age and taking a deep bow to the biographies of these 18 remarkable women.

The Israeli choreographer GALIT LISS has a special feeling for people whose inner flame of curiosity, courage and hope continues to burn. Her choreographies always pursue a social cause. For more than ten years, Liss has been researching the ‘physiological aesthetics’ of old age in the workshops of her ‘Gila’ company, purposely working with non-professional dancers. Galit Liss lives in Tel Aviv and is a member of the Israeli Choreographers Association.
