LET'S CALL IT A NIGHT

PREMIERES

An Indian performer from Bangalore. A Russian breakdancer from Novosibirsk. A Nigerian dancer who regularly develops community dance projects in Lagos: they all came to Theater Bremen for half a year upon the invitation of the resident choreographer Samir Akika. He got to know them on his many trips that led him around the world in the past ten years. After their production ‘Belleville’ created with the resident ensemble, the TANZ Bremen festival now provides the stage for the six guest dancers in Let’s call it a night for their own presentations: How did the encounter inspire them? What do they have to say to each other? What would they like to show?

The Algerian-French choreographer Samir Akika has been directing the dance department of Theater Bremen since 2012 – together with his company Unusual Symptoms. Under this label, the artists have also been supporting and producing own works by the dancers of the company.

By and with: Sunday Israel Akpan, Igor Matros Aniutin,

Keya Ann D‘Souza, Ronita Mookerji, Kseniya Zhukova,

Satyajit Ravindranath Ravjavarma
Dramaturgy: Gregor Runge
